About

- Branding Time 2009
My name is Rhea, I have been doing things on line for a couple of years. Started with a company called DirectMatches, worked very feverishly with this project for a couple years. Then the light bulb came on when I was doing our taxes that I was literally working for penny’s. So I said to XXXX with this and gave it up. Stated selling on Ebay and I still do this when I have items available to sell.
Just a few months ago (November 2009) I started Blogging and I am having a blast with this, and learning tons! I recently joined Blog Success they have been so helpful! And believe me when I say I have asked plenty of questions and they have always answered. It is real cool when you get more than one member offering there help, gives your more views on things. I am learning more each day and I have been able to pass a some of the things I have learned on to other new members, so I feel I am accomplishing something and helping other members also.
I mostly have been a rancher wife, rancher, mom and I spent several years fighting Wild land Fire during the summer, although that can be hard work. I enjoyed it. Fire has taken be to many different areas, and I have meant so many neat people, In fact I am thinking about going back to it for a couple years. Just another job outdoors and it works almost hand in hand in ranching…
I have a wonderful husband of 30 years, two wonderful kids a daughter and a son.
My husband and I live and work the ranch life every day. We enjoy the outdoors, and we do a lot of riding in the Mountains with our dogs. We have Two Australian Sheppard Dogs and Three Heelers, two of them are blue healer and then we have Cheyenne she is a red healer. they are all working cattle dogs and the have TONS of energy! My son summed it up best here while back. When he stepped out side to begin his day, he simply stated – I love what I do. I never wakeup and say – What do I HAVE to do today? I wakeup and say – What CAN I do today? This makes a big difference in life. My mom always told me life is to short to worry about the little things, and you know I believe she was right.
We have two kids, a son and daughter, both have left the nest. . . Karena moved to Idaho a few years ago with her future husband. She has been so happy, what more can a parent ask for! About a year and a half ago Karena and Jerry joined hands in marriage, what a wonderful day, she is so beautiful and on her wedding day she was even more beautiful.
Karen and her husband reside in a small remote town in Idaho, where for the most part they hunt, fish, go on hikes,
oh and did I mention hunting and fishing what the life! Totally happy….what more can you ask for. A couple of summers ago she took up river rafting, whow what a thrill for her! While she took groups done the river her husband Jerry would meet them at the bottom with all the fixens of a great meal. Karena and Jerry are truly living the life the enjoy every day giving them a new adventure. John and I always look forward to going and visiting them. The last time we where up there we went fishing…didn’t do so good fishing, but we sure had fun trying, it was such a nice visit.
I talk about Ropes hard luck in his life time, Karena also has had her share of critter related accidents. When she was just a baby and riding on the Mountain, her horse went over a small log and Karena fell off, right to the ground, didn’t hurt her, much more than her pride, we asked if she wanted to get back on? Crying, she say yes, you don’t think I am walking…While we where gathering cattle, she had a horse shake with her in a water hole, she wasn’t paying attention and she fell in to the water, we all had a pretty good laugh over that one. ( it was a good thing it was a hot day) When she was a junior in school, while she was showing her lamb in 4-H her lamb pushed her over and knocked her into the fence, this one she ended having knee surgery over….She has recovered from this pretty good, bothers her once in a while when she rides. The hard luck of cowgirls and cowboys.
Our son Rope, Is a great hand when it come to the ranch work although he is our “hard luck” cowboy. When he was high school rodeoing he was injured by a bull in practice, this ended up being a life changing event for him, and it still comes back to haunt him once in a while. A few years ago he was helping a friend load cattle and long story short he got his face kicked in by a gate. He just recently got all his teeth “screwed” back in, but he never loss the good lookin smile “even when he didn’t have his front teeth”. Just after that accident he was working on a ranch and he jumped off his horse to help load a trailer full of cattle when he caught his foot on his rope and the horse jumped, he fell snapping his ankle, but what was bad the horse drug him over 300 yrds down threw the brush over the rocks. I still thank the lord today for watching over him , he got hurt real bad bad we didn’t loose him. He spent a week in the hospital and only a couple months ago he was released from the doctor to go back to work, this accident has changed his life, he now has one leg shorter than the other, he lives with pain every day, but he never quiets, he know has a good job, and he is sweet on a little gal, things are really looking up for him.
My whole family live a pretty simple life. We all enjoy the outdoors, ranching, camping, hunting, fishing almost anything to do with being outdoors.
